What You'll Do

As a Respiratory Therapist at WRC, your responsibilities will include:

Deliver compassionate and effective respiratory care interventions and treatments, including the initiation of ventilatory support and administration of aerosolized medications.

Monitor and assess patients' respiratory status and vital signs, ensuring prompt and accurate interventions as needed.

Operate and maintain respiratory equipment with precision and expertise, including oxygen administration devices, ventilators, humidifiers, and nebulizers.

Obtain arterial blood samples for analysis, ensuring meticulous attention to accuracy and adherence to protocol.

Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, psychologists, and social workers, to provide comprehensive care and support to patients.

Demonstrated knowledge of respiratory therapy techniques for a variety of cardiorespiratory diseases.

Proficiency in aseptic techniques and equipment maintenance procedures.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

A license or temporary license to practice respiratory care as issued by the Iowa Board of Respiratory Care;

OR

graduation from an approved respiratory care training program. Graduates may work up to one year as a "respiratory care practitioner licensure applicant" prior to being licensed.
