Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our Child and Family Support Services Program. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, intervention, and support to children with developmental, physical, and sensory challenges. This role is vital in helping children achieve their maximum potential and enhancing their quality of life.
Responsibilities
Provide ongoing occupational therapy, parent training, and family support services, utilizing a range of techniques to engage children and families.
Provide center- and/or home-based occupational therapy assessments for children. Work cooperatively with families to determine concerns, goals, and an intervention plan.
Initiate and maintain contact with referral sources and other KKI and community providers to assist in the coordination of services and to foster productive relationships in the community.
Function as a member of the Child and Family Support Program team through active participation in team conferences and meetings, providing technical assistance, training, and support to other team members.
Meet all assigned revenue goals, and complete all paperwork in a manner consistent with Institute and departmental expectations, as well as guidelines established by CARF and The Joint Commission.
Initiate and participate in projects that contribute to the growth of the Child and Family Support Program (e.g., groups, special projects, trainee supervision, trainings, and publications).
Qualifications
Certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation required.
Individual must demonstrate competence across all age groups due to the diversity of the children and families served by KKI.
Clinical care focus is on the neonate, pediatric, and adolescent populations, as well as some adults with disabilities.
EDUCATION:
Must have a bachelor’s degree in an approved occupational therapy program.
Must have a current Maryland Occupational Therapy license.
Must have successfully completed the national registration examination.
EXPERIENCE:
Must have experience in pediatric evaluation/treatment.
Experience in coordinating community services preferred.
