Responsibilities
• Evaluate potential personal injury claims and provide legal advice to prospective clients accordingly• Review, modify, and draft motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, claims, subpoenas, memorandums, and other legal documents• Appear as legal counsel on the clients' behalf at mediations, trials, hearings, depositions, and litigation• Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, insurance company adjusters, supporting witnesses, and medical providers to gather information• Negotiate suitable agreements and settle on the clients' behalf when appropriate
Qualifications
• Three years of personal injury litigation or trial experience in wrongful death, medical malpractice, personal injury, or civil litigation practice areas is a necessity• Excellent negotiation, drafting, research, and communication skills are desired• Proficiency in computers is vital• A bachelor's degree and a J.D. degree is required• Membership in the State Bar Association and a state license to practice law is mandatory• Up-to-date knowledge of personal injury law/ tort law, wrongful death, civil and family law, medical terminology, and medical malpractice is imperative
