Staff members engage volunteers through effective and timely communications, facilitating meaningful opportunities, and continually seeking and providing feedback for reciprocal growth and learning.The Individual Giving Senior Manager serves on the fundraising team providing multiple-chapter support in the northeastern part of the country representing $5+ million in mid-level giving revenue annually nationwide.
Mid-Level giving range is defined as $1,000 to $24,999 and is the critical pipeline to major gifts for the organization.
The Senior Manager strategically engages a pipeline of new and retained prospects through a defined portfolio of donors giving at the $2,500-$25,000 level. This position actively works a portfolio to create meaningful interactions including donor qualification, cultivation, gift solicitation and stewardship. This position is an active leader on relationship management teams that develops and ensures execution of moves management plans for prospects. The Senior Manager is pivotal to growing chapter revenue by identifying potential major gifts and establishing a strong pipeline to the Major Gift program.
The Senior Manager co-leads Donor Relations Committees in defined chapters with Chapter Presidents to recruit and activate high level volunteers to increase individual giving revenue.
Responsible for collaborating cross-departmentally at high levels to ensure strategic donor engagement in all facets of the organization.
The Senior Manager, Individual Giving will have the ability to work from home and must be based in Washington DC, Boston MA, Virginia/West Virginia, Pennsylvania Keystone and Michigan, or the surrounding area to manage the assigned portfolio. Travel in and to assigned markets is required, as well as attending weekend and evening donor functions.
Essential Functions / ResponsibilityActive Portfolio ManagementManage defined pipeline of new and retained donors through meaningful interactions and execution of appropriate relationship building steps to increase Individual Giving revenue and identify and develop major donor targets.Actively identify top relationships within portfolio to strategically align moves management plans to grow giving to donor's highest capacity.Regularly research, qualify and assign donors to portfolio through defined processes to determine individuals with capacity and propensity.Engage with donors in a variety of ways to identify specific donor interests and deepen their connection to the organization. This includes but is not limited to reaching weekly donor phone call goals, visit chapter territories to host donor meetings or intimate events.Leverage assigned weekly donor thank you calls to further donor discovery, determine next steps in the donor's journey with the organization, and prompt leadership staff and volunteers as needed to advance the relationshipRepresent Individual Giving in all chapter relationship management meetings to facilitate collaboration and develop donor engagement strategies cross functionally.Drive collaboration with Individual Giving Staff, Chapter Presidents, Society leadership as well as key chapter volunteers to identify, cultivate and solicit donors.Leverage national donor cultivation and stewardship opportunities to increase meaningful donor interactions and stewardship plans.Refine and implement key functions of the Individual Giving operational plan to achieve targeted revenue goals for each assigned chapter.Event ManagementDetermine viability of donor events across territory based on revenue opportunity, donor activation and budgetary constraints.Collaborate with the donor experience team to implement donor events across multiple chapters.Lead the donor engagement planning and strategy for donor events and coordinate with Chapter Presidents.Facilitate correspondence with staff and volunteer leads to ensure roles are understood and relationship management assignments are confirmed.Build and execute personalized outreach plans for top relationships and Chapter Presidents' portfolios.AdministrationActively record and upload interactions for all assigned donors.Qualify prospects within prospect pool and assist Director in making team assignments.Regularly review budgets, monthly financials and other meaningful reports to help ensure you and the team are meeting revenue and performance goals.Conduct prospect research utilizing a suite of resources, as appropriate.Pull defined reports from the reporting system.Adhere to Individual Giving operational plans and processes and manage individual expenses according to the established budget.Remain current on guidelines and protocols in relation to donor engagement and industry trends.Committee ManagementCo-lead with Chapter Presidents to facilitate and activate Donor Relations Committees.Facilitate correspondence with staff and volunteer leads to ensure roles are understood and relationship management assignments are confirmed.Drive development of portfolio and strategic moves management plans for each donor with each volunteer leaderCoordinate quarterly meetings and monthly reports as needed.Role Qualifications3-5 years of nonprofit fundraising experience required. Time management, event management, organization, communication, relationship management, and collaboration skills required. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to ask for gifts at a mid-level range.Ability to utilize donor prospecting and management tools including CRM software, wealth screening, moves management, donor briefing documents, etc.Proven ability to identify new prospects, build and maintain strong relationships with donors and develop strategies for cultivation and stewardship. Identify, assess and analyze specific areas of donor interest and level of potential engagement with the Society.Works closely with Major Gift Officers, Chapter Presidents, board members and staff to map out specific plans for stewardship and must have exceptional interpersonal skills and solid judgement in communication.Must be an action-oriented, energetic professional with the following attributes: a track record of building donor and volunteer relationships; skilled at inspiring, influencing and engaging people; high emotional intelligence; collegial, collaborative and accessible; strong listening skills, passion for the mission.Manage and execute donor visits, prepare donor briefs and define relationship management strategies.Knowledge of industry standards, current trends, and best practices.Results driven style and proven track record of fundraising/sales success.Experience and knowledge in mid-major level donor fundraising.Understanding of moves management planning and the donor lifecycle.Technical CompetenciesExperience with Salesforce (preferred) or equivalent CRM database. Strong computer skills: MS Office XP - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Database/Reporting tools, Outlook and Internet. Ability to use online video platforms and lead webbased presentations.Understanding of the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship cycle of individual giving donors.
