We are seeking talented Vascular Access Nurse(s) to join our team and drive our company’s growth and success.

Location: Eastern Washington State (Kittitas, Yakima, Benton, & Franklin Counties)

Job Summary: This position is a flexible PRN position to accommodate your already busy schedule. As a Vascular Access Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized vascular access care, with a focus on Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC lines). The ideal candidate will possess expertise in vascular access procedures, infusion therapy, and nursing/patient education.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide quality customer and patient support, promptly responding to questions and/or concerns.

Perform insertion of PICC lines and Midlines under sterile technique using ultrasound guidance in adult and elderly patients.

Assess patients for appropriate vascular access needs and select appropriate catheter type and insertion site.

Monitor, assess, and mange complications related to PICC/midline insertion and ongoing usage, including infection, thrombosis, or catheter malfunction.

Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate care for patients with PICC/midlines.

Educate patients, families, and other healthcare providers on the care and maintenance of PICC/midlines, including, but not limited to, flushing, dressing changes, and signs of complications.

Follow all protocols, standards, and guidelines for infection prevention and control.

Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives related to vascular access care.

Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (CDC guidelines, INS and AVA Standards).

Perform dressing changes and troubleshoot issues (catheter occlusion/malfunction).

Perform peripheral IV starts and Ultrasound-guided peripheral IV Starts.

Access/de-access/maintain implanted ports.

Qualifications:

Education & Licensure:

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.

In state of practice, Current & active Registered Nurse (RN).

Experience:

A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.

Experience in acute care, vascular access and infusion therapy preferred.

Proficient in ultrasound-guided PICC line insertion techniques.

Proficient PICC tip confirmation using Navigation and ECG.

Skills:

Strong clinical assessment skills.

Able to make critical decisions regarding patient care and vascular access procedures.

Excellent communication and patient education skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Certifications:

CRNI and/or VA-BC; highly desirable.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.

Standards & Competencies:

Provide prompt, high quality customer service.

Adherence to the guidelines set by the Infusion Nurses Society (INS) and Association for Vascular Access (AVA).

Maintain detailed documentation of all procedures, patient assessments, and interventions in the electronic medical record (EMR)

Demonstrates proficiency in the safe use of ultrasound and other vascular access tools.

Able to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
