The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel's employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.
Selling Director of Large Group SalesFunctions as the leader of the property's large group sales team's sales efforts reporting to Vice President of Sales. Manages the property's reactive and proactive sales efforts. Shares responsibility for achieving revenue goals, guest and associate satisfaction. Implements the brand's service strategy and applicable brand initiatives in all aspects of the sales process. Provides day-to-day leadership oversight to the on-property and remote sales associates with a focus on building long-term, luxury customer relationships that enable achievement of the property's sales objectives. Maintains ultimate accountability for verifying that the team maximizes revenue opportunities by up-selling and accurately forecasting revenues (e.g., catering and group rooms) for all events. Adheres to all Company, safety and departmental policies and procedures. Fosters teamwork and provides excellent guest service. Anticipates guest needs to exceed guest expectations. Builds brand loyalty by living the JW Marriott Core Values.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS :Demonstrated skills supervising a luxury hotel group sales team, preferably with a minimum of 5-7 years' experienceMarriott luxury brand experience preferredExcellent selling skills and understanding of sales processesStrong customer and relationship management skillsKnowledge and interpretation of Sales reports and forecasting revenuesPossesses excellent telephone sales skillsKnowledge of contractual agreements and legal implicationsExperience implementation of successful Sales strategiesEffective decision-making skillsGood negotiation skillsStrong communication skillsKnowledge of overall hotel operations as they affect departmentsAbility to use standard software applications and hotel systems including CI/TYREQUIRED CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:
2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 4 years' experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area required or4-year bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years' experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area preferred.Valid Nevada Driver's License
