Job Description: Optometrist
Join our team! Eye Thrive is looking for a committed and compassionate licensed Optometrist who is excited to make a true difference in the lives of children by providing eye exams and glasses to low-income children onboard our state-of-the-art Mobile Vision Clinic.

Eye Thrive is a locally recognized 501c3 nonprofit that empowers children to pursue their full potential by delivering essential eyecare across the St. Louis region. Each school year Eye Thrive provides 15,000+ vision screenings, 5,000+ comprehensive eye exams, 6,000+ prescription glasses, 2,000+ replacement glasses, and 200+ follow-up care referrals, all completely free of charge. Eye Thrive is positioned to double our capacity with a second Mobile Vision Clinic in 2025 allowing us to double our impact on the lives of kids in St. Louis. Job Type:
Part Time 5-20 hours/week; Monday-Thursday 8 AM-1 PM or 9 AM-2 PM depending on visit location. Essential Duties:
Performs comprehensive eye exams including:
Measuring visual acuity. Binocular vision assessment. Tests for muscle balance Refractions. Prescribing appropriate spectacle correction. Ocular health assessment. Explains each step of the eye exam and listens carefully to patients.
Identifies ocular complications of systemic disease. Uses electronic health record system for documentation. Sanitizes optical equipment between each patient. Competencies:

Basic Qualifications:
Doctor of Optometry Degree. Optometry license in the state of Missouri. Optometry license in the state of Illinois is a plus. Interest in working with children. Must be flexible to commute throughout the Greater St. Louis area. Computer Skills:
Proficient skill level with EHR systems. Proficient skill level with Google Mail, Documents, Sheets, and Calendar. Work Environment:
Works onboard Mobile Vision Clinic at various schools throughout Greater St. Louis. Physical Demands:
Ability to move up and down stairwells; Frequent standing, reaching and stooping - 75% or more of the workday may be spent standing on feet.
