As an Occupational Therapist, you'll play a crucial role in helping patients achieve their goals.Responsibilities
The Occupational Therapist (OT) uses clinical expertise, physical assessment, teaching and skilled therapy interventions to deliver high quality patient care in the patient's place of residence. The OT contributes to the development of the home health plan of care under the direction of the physician. The OT delivers therapy intervention and treatment directed by the physician as established in the home health plan of care that is consistent with clinical best practices and results in high quality, improved outcomes and exceptional patient experience.*Makes visits to the homes of patients requiring home health occupational therapy services and assumes responsibility for an ongoing interdisciplinary assessment of the patient..*Evaluates and assesses the patient's level of functioning by applying appropriate tests.*Develops specific occupational therapy procedures as well as functional activities in accordance with written physician plan of treatment and patient evaluation.*Develops and administers plan of treatment including environmental modifications.*Oversees use of treatment modalities, prosthetic devices and therapeutic appliances.*Ensures quality and safe delivery of services to patients according to the care plan.*Performs and directs therapy treatment as ordered.*Uses equipment and supplies safely, effectively, and efficiently.Qualifications
Licensed or otherwise regulated, if applicable, as an Occupational Therapist by the state in which practicing, unless licensure does not apply in the practicing state.Graduate of an occupational Therapist education program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. (AOTA), or successor organizations of ACOTEEligible to take, or has successfully completed the entry-level certification examination for Occupational Therapists developed and administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc.
