Job Description

The Commercial Strategy Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing commercial strategies to grow the business by conducting market research, analyzing competitor data, managing contracts, and collaborating closely with a team of engineers, technicians, and other professionals. Acting as the central point of contact for corporate stakeholders, including Legal, Audit, Health, Environment & Safety (HES), Accounts Payable (AP), and vendor representatives, this role requires maintaining regular communication with vendors to assess capacity, competencies, and cost competitiveness. The Specialist will identify and execute cost reduction opportunities within assigned categories and manage vendor selection and prequalification processes, including contacting potential vendors, preparing pre-qualification questionnaires, and completing bidding cycles for projects of varying sizes. Additionally, the Specialist will prepare, negotiate, and manage contract terms in collaboration with Legal, using Oxys ERP systems, including Ariba and SAP, to monitor the contract life cycle, handle proposed change orders, and ensure adherence to terms and conditions. Issuing purchase orders, overseeing invoicing and payment activities in coordination with AP, and participating in Supplier Performance Meetings are also key aspects of this role. Strong interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, integrity, and innovation, are essential, as the position requires coordination across various stakeholders. Proficiency in SAP, Ariba, and analytical skills for market research and competitor analysis are required, along with experience in contract negotiation, vendor management, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business administration, Human Resources, Industrial Distribution, or Supply Chain Management

Experience in SAP or Arriba

Experience in Oil and Gas industry

Knowledgeable on compression equipment either a technical background, working with compressor vendors, or selling compressors. null
