Senior Accountant, Consolidations

The Senior Accountant, Consolidations is highly visible role focused on monthly global close, consolidation and financial reporting. You will work cross functionally with accounting, FP&A, and tax/treasury teams to improve the reporting, controls and processes for consolidated financial data. This role will be involved in numerous key projects to transform the consolidation and reporting function, such as intercompany controls/process improvements, M&A integration, group restructurings and systems enhancements.

Hybrid on-site (3) days a week in our Northbrook or Chicago, IL office

Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.

Collaborate across global organization to develop financial information and analysis supporting internal and external reporting needs.

Create and maintain reports in Oracle Consolidations (FCCS) module.

Review intercompany balances and reconciliations, and assist with improving intercompany controls and processes.

Prepare topside journal entries, intercompany eliminations, and investment eliminations.

Assist in key projects which vary based on business transactions and priorities (e.g., acquisitions & divestitures and internal reorganizations)

Support new business initiatives, system integrations, and other major change management impacting financial statements and related systems. Collaborate cross functionally as needed on consolidation and financial reporting matters.

Represent UL Solutions interests to internal and external parties through preparation of key deliverables - e.g., FP&A/tax/treasury partnership, sponsors, lenders, tax authorities, auditors, and other stakeholders.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business, CPA strongly preferred

At least 3-4 years of accounting experience focused on financial reporting, consolidations, or technical accounting.

Experience at a large, global company with multiple legal entities and a complex consolidation structure is desirable.

Experience applying GAAP knowledge

Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: index/match, pivot tables, multiple if statements).

Strong analytical skills

Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Able to work with large amounts of data.

Experience at a public company with SEC reporting requirements (or public accounting experiences with listed clients) strongly preferred

Experience with SOX controls strongly preferred

Experience working with a consolidation system (Oracle FCCS, BPC, Oracle HFM, OneStream) is desirable; familiarity with Hyperion Essbase reporting is a plus.

Experience with Oracle ERP or other large ERP platform such as SAP is preferred.

Experience applying advanced knowledge level of accounting practices, controls, and systems.

Experience with Microsoft Power BI is desirable.

Experience working on projects and cross-functional collaboration.
