Job Duties
Exercises line supervision over multiple registered nurses by training, scheduling,formally evaluating performance and issuing discipline. Also performs direct nursingservice by independently providing professional nursing care to patients in clinics,homes and schools. Performs nursing assessments, may perform lab tests, takemeasurements, develop and implement care plans, including the administration ofmedication and case management. Actions performed at this level require licensure asa RN by state code.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge and demonstrated ability to effectively supervise staff in the areasof public health nursing and population health• Knowledge of grants, case management, ambulatory clinic services, andagencies/programs that support the underserved and underinsuredpopulations• Knowledge of public and community health principles, and of nursing andhealth care programs• Knowledge of nursing theories related to improving the health of thecommunity• Working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite
