Description
Main Purpose:
The Offshore Fitter performs job functions required and assigned in iron fabrication as steel structures per the contract/job specifications, quality assurance requirements/fitting procedures and established ISO/QC program standards.
Essential Functions:
Study engineering drawings to determine materials requirements and task sequencesRead and interpret blueprints and specificationsPerform mathematical calculations, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, angles, etc.Measure, cut, fit, and install structural/pipe plate, pipe material, beams, plate, pipe, etc., per blueprint and job specificationsLocate and mark workpiece from drawings cutting lines, checking for material thickness, welding shrinkage, and other component specificationsStraighten warped or bent parts using sledges, hand torches, and straightening proceduresFollow fitting procedures and principles used in fabricating offshore jackets, decks, heliports, production facilities, etc.Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts using cutting torches, straightening presses, and hand toolsLays out and installs piping, equipment, and other mechanical systems in compliance with construction drawings and specificationsInspect work sites for obstructions or holes that could cause structural weaknessVerify conformance of workpieces to specifications using squares and measuring tapesPull coordinates to find pipes and get measurementsPerform other duties assigned by supervisorBenefits Offered:

2+ years experience in offshore fittingHighschool diploma or GEDTools, Equipment, and Technology:
Must know of and use cutting torches, measuring tapes, calculators, levels, man-lifts, high-reach equipment, welding machines, chipping hammers, pressure chippers, power grinders, etc.
Environmental Conditions:
80% to 90% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet, and dry conditions, dust, mud, etc. They may also be exposed to fumes (Paint, paint thinners, diesel, /or gas, etc.)
