Discovery Attorney

We have a great opportunity for a Discovery Attorney in Los Angeles or San Francisco. This a largely remote role with our prestigious and large law firm client.
The ideal candidate will employ best practices in working with case teams, litigation support, and clients to design, implement, and manage strategic, cost effective, and defensible approaches to eDiscovery.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited institution, and membership in good standing of the California bar.Must have at least 5 years discovery experience working with electronic document reviews and productions in Relativity/RelativityOne and other document review platforms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will assist case teams in supporting the firm's matters for its clients. You will work alongside partners and associates to understand eDiscovery requirements for matters, contribute to the overall strategy and development of workflows and operational plans to cull, review, and produce data, manage the firm's Document Review Attorneys, maintain vendor relationships, and work with other members of practice resources to respond to eDiscovery-related requests on matters.
The Discovery Attorney will act as the key point of contact for case teams with respect to strategic and logistical document culling, review, and production planning, implementation, and execution, including maintaining relationships with in-house litigation technology personnel, outside service providers, and clients. The Discovery Attorney will further ensure that case teams are trained on matter-specific workflows and document review tools and that all firm document review processes are followed.
Specific responsibilities will include exercising professional legal judgments in (i) working with case teams and vendors to analyze and contribute to strategic and defensible culling decisions with respect to large data sets composed of a variety of file types and formats; (ii) designing, implementing, and managing all aspects of substantive document reviews, generally on Relativity and similar review platforms, including coding palette design, batching, review staffing, and formulating and running complex searches; (iii) assessing the value and costs associated with the application of advanced analytical tools such as TAR and email threading; (iv) designing quality control and privilege workflows and performing substantive and privilege QC review; (v) assisting with redactions and preparation of privilege and redaction logs; and (vi) participating in special projects and other duties as assigned. Qualifications/Position Requirements:
In addition to the educational and experience requirements, the candidate should have:• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision• Superior attention to detail• Excellent organizational skills• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively under pressure and with people at all levels• Excellent analytical skills and judgment• Excellent oral and written communication and language skills• Demonstrated ability to use technology relevant to the job, including extensive experience with electronic document review platforms such as Relativity and Eclipse and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel• Thorough understanding of the rules of attorney-client privilege and attorney work product protection• Flexibility to work extended and often unpredictable hours, including weekends and holidays• Ability to supervise others effectively
