Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Analyst to join our Consumer & Retail team. The successful candidate will support a diverse range of clients by delivering actionable insights and strategic advisory services in the context of geopolitical risk. This role requires strong experience in consulting, writing, and presenting content for business clients, along with a deep understanding of global markets and supply chains. The ideal candidate will have the ability to convey complex geopolitical information visually, concisely, and coherently, while thriving in a team-oriented, adaptable, and fast-paced environment. Experience or interest in business and human rights, as well as responsible business conduct, is a valuable plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Research & Analysis:
Conduct in-depth research and analysis on geopolitical developments impacting the consumer and retail sectors.
Monitor global political and economic trends, with a focus on how these affect business operations, supply chains, and market access.
Analyze the implications of emerging risks related to human rights and responsible business conduct for the consumer and retail sectors, as well as other corporate applications.
Strategy Consulting:
Collaborate with senior analysts and consultants to provide clients with strategic advice on mitigating risks and identifying opportunities in volatile geopolitical landscapes.
Develop tailored client deliverables that include reports, presentations, and risk assessments, ensuring complex information is presented concisely and visually when needed.
Writing & Communication:
Craft clear, concise, and insightful research notes, client briefings, and reports that translate complex geopolitical developments into business-relevant insights.
Contribute to regular publications and thought leadership on relevant geopolitical issues, with a focus on content creation for business clients.
Client Engagement:
Work directly with clients to understand their specific needs, deliver customized solutions, and help them navigate geopolitical risks.
Assist in preparing and delivering presentations, briefings, and workshops for clients across the consumer and retail sectors, ensuring complex information is conveyed in a coherent and engaging manner.
Team Collaboration & Adaptability:
Work closely with team members in a collaborative, agile environment, adapting to fast-changing priorities while maintaining high-quality output.
Demonstrate a team-oriented mindset, contributing to a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
Business & Human Rights Focus (Plus):
Support the integration of responsible business practices into client strategies, focusing on business and human rights, supply chain ethics, and sustainability.
Monitor regulatory changes and global standards related to responsible business conduct and advise clients accordingly.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MA, MSc, JD) is a plus.
3-5 years of experience in strategy consulting, research, or geopolitical risk analysis, preferably with relevance to the consumer and retail sectors.
Strong writing skills with the ability to convey complex information in a clear, visually engaging, and compelling manner.
Excellent research skills and an ability to quickly grasp new issues across a variety of regions and topics.
Client-facing experience, with the ability to manage and cultivate relationships, understand client needs, and present findings effectively.
Experience with global markets, supply chains, and geopolitical risk analysis.
Interest in business and human rights, sustainability, and responsible business conduct is highly desirable.
Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Team-oriented, adaptable, and agile, with a demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.
The applicable base salary range for this role is $75,000 to $90,000.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
