Description
Scope of Position:
Plans layout, installs, and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment in 3D exhibitory. May perform some fabrication and preparations of existing property.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoids unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit.Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads.Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment. Including stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer.Coordination with Prep/AV Technician individuals to ensure that mounting requirements, proper hardware, and any pre-wire requirements are met.Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.Troubleshooting and repairs faulty equipment or systems.Working with low voltage and 120/240v services.Light fabrication.AV preparation as needed.Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience:
One-year certificate from college or technical school; or five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
General Skills:
Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Windows7 or greater, and familiarity with Microsoft Office 2010 including Word, Excel, & Outlook.Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal.Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Forklift driving is a requirement (ECI certification).
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. A forklift will be used to move anything over 75 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
