This role will be located at our Englewood, Colorado or Loveland, Ohio facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of a thermodynamic cycle for an aviation engine using sound engineering principles while meeting industry standards and program requirements. This includes setting performance cycle design points and requirements for each module in the engine, and providing customer quotes and guarantees.Experience with creating thermodynamic models in NPSS and using those models to drive the design and development of an aviation gas turbine. Experience completing and supporting operability and transient analysis in conjunction with engine performance.Lead engine system or component test programs from a performance, operability, and transient perspective. Set test objectives and limits, instrumentation and test data requirements, and test planning to validate the engine designServe as the performance design subject matter expert as part of a diverse system design team. Ensure the engine meets overall performance, operability, and transient requirements from a design perspective. Coordinate with mechanical and aero engineers to optimize the overall engine cycle.Lead design reviews and coordinate with other disciplines in design, performance, controls, stress and life, additive manufacturing, materials and system analysisProvide timely communications on significant issues or developmentsParticipate in the research and development of technologies and methodologies associated with additive design. Advise on ways to improve product design through the exploitation of additive manufacturing.Assure proper documentation of technical data generated consistent with engineering best practicesDesired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or collegeAt least 5 years of experience in gas turbine performance analysisStrong understanding of design software tools (NPSS, etc.)Experience working with additive manufacturing technologies and familiarity with design for additive manufacturing principlesPassion for additive technology and willingness to challenge current design limitations to further exploit the benefits of additive capabilityStrong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skillsDemonstrated problem solving ability and strong program leadership and execution skillsProven self-starter and quick learner who can work in fast-paced cross-functional teams.Direct experience supporting and working with customers

In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $110,000-$160,000 base salary. Please note that wage information is a general guideline only, and we will consider factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and market conditions when extending an offer.
