JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a responsible and courteous part-time Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) driver to join our team in San Jose, California. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to safety.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safely transport clients to and from medical appointments, therapy sessions, and other non-emergency medical destinations
Assist clients with entering and exiting the vehicle, ensuring their comfort and safety
Operate wheelchair lifts and secure mobility devices as needed
Maintain accurate transportation logs and client records
Perform routine vehicle inspections and ensure vehicles are clean and well-maintained
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and healthcare providers
Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies
QUALIFICATIONS (knowledge, skills, abilities):
Licensed California Driver with good driving record.
At least 3 years driving experience with clean record.
Ability to operate all vehicles, has some mechanical ability and understand the maintenance program for vehicles.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
One-year experience working with the frail or elderly population (Preferred).
Flexibility and creativity; gets along well with frail elderly people, and exercises mature judgment.
Understands and carries out oral and written directions.
Familiarity with traffic routes and driving regulations in San Jose.
English required.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
