The salary mentioned above reflects the potential pay range for this role and bonuses or other incentives
(if applicable), are offered separately. Offers will consider such factors as overall experience, job-related qualifications, location, certifications/training, etc.
Responsibilities
Oversee all direct wound care activities to assure practices are consistent
Identify, plan, implement, and evaluate skin care in residents
Manage and treat specific skin disorders
Coordinates weekly skin rounds
Perform assessment evaluations using techniques including observation, and inspection
Confer with the Care Planning Team in the development of the care plan
Provide treatment for skin disorders within established wound care protocol
Monitor the use of preventive measures such as inspection, turning and positioning
Precept new nurses and demonstrate individual procedures to new nursing personnel
Order and tracks the usage of supplies/equipment in prevention and treatment
Assist in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the needs of the resident, in accordance with established medical practices, the regulatory guidelines and the policies and goals of this facility
Provides information to resident and caregivers on prevention techniques and other ways to maintain or improve the general health and psychosocial status of the resident
Participates in Performance Improvement program as assigned such as wound and nutrition committee
Participate in the planning and conducting of in-service training classes concerning dermatologic nursing skills and procedures used within the facility
Abide by the standards identified in FutureCare’s Statement of Corporate Ethics and the Corporate Compliance Plan
Qualifications
Must hold an active RN license issued in the state of Maryland
At least 1 year of nursing experience required
Must possess an active certification in wound care
Experience with resident’s skin care working in a skilled nursing facility preferred
Proven leadership skills to assure smooth unit/area operations and quality resident care
Effective communication skills to facilitate positive interpersonal interaction
Ability to interact with others in a considerate, helpful, and courteous manner
