You will be doing exciting, cutting-edge work to build skills strategy and talent solutions that support Verizon's innovative and customer-focused workforce. You will be a member of a center of excellence team that is responsible for creating and implementing strategy and solutions around skills that support the talent and careers strategy.Building skills strategy that enables Verizon's talent management strategy in areas such as recruiting, training, internal mobility and careers, and performance.
Actively lead and project manage highly complex, cross-functional projects focused on strategically creating, maturing, and applying skills strategy across talent management.
Leading project teams that include internal and external skills partners, internal genAI platforms, and analytics teams and tools to research, evaluate, innovate, and build out system-driven solutions in support of Verizon's skills-based organizational strategy.
Influencing and setting standards for external skills vendor partners.
Partnering with best in class assessment vendors and other Talent teams and Centers of Excellence (Learning & Development, Talent Management GPS, Talent Planning, Talent Acquisition, Strategic Workforce Planning, and Performance Management & Development) to identify and implement assessments for employee development that are aligned with Verizon's overall skills and talent strategy.
Leading/managing large-scale cross-functional skills initiatives (including skills proficiency, intelligence, validation, and research).
Leading needs analysis and/or job analysis/competency modeling to identify skills gaps.
Compiling and/or conducting benchmarking and reviews of existing skills and assessments research literature to support strategy.
Partnering with and/or project managing teams of niche professionals with subject matter expertise in psychometric assessment/measurement, skills/competencies, and coaching.
Developing implementation guidelines, processes, communications, and training to support skill-based solutions.
Creating and conducting success measurement/ program evaluation studies to demonstrate ROI for strategies, tools, and programs.
Serving as an expert resource for questions regarding assessment considerations.
Partnering with appropriate experts/vendors to ensure solutions are implemented in compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, audit, and professional requirements (e.g., Uniform Guidelines, OFCCP, SIOP, APA Standards), including technical documentation and analysis.
Leading and managing assessment vendors.
Supporting maintenance of Verizon's evergreen job taxonomy (e.g., maintaining inventory of jobs, making recommendations, and influencing decisions on additions/updates to taxonomy, etc.) as needed.
Supporting the Contributing to HR transformation projects (growing talent strategy, helping infuse skills in the talent ecosystem, shaping future priority, and management of career-focused tools in Verizon's Talent GPS program) as needed.
In this hybrid role, you may sit in any Verizon hub location.What we're looking for... You'll need to have:
Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
Experience designing and executing data analyses and applying inferential statistics.
Experience with workplace assessments.
Experience in global learning and development strategy and evaluation.
Experience applying assessment practices/methodology to talent management or training.
Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Ph.D. or Masters in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Human Resource Management or related field.
Consulting experience in selection and assessment (e.g. corporate HR setting, external consulting firm).
Experience with AI/Machine learning skills vendors, technologies, and methodologies.
Experience with Qualtrics survey design, administration, and analysis capabilities.
Experience with validation practices.
Experience project managing and implementing large-scale learning and development and/or assessment-related projects in a corporate environment.
Experience leading a team and/or coaching/developing employees.
Experience creating and/or delivering executive presentations on relevant topics.
Experience with professional standards and practice in employment testing and measurement (e.g., Uniform Guidelines, OFCCP, SIOP, APA Standards).
Experience in Excel, SPSS, SAS, or other statistical packages for data/trend analysis.
Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Google Slides, Excel, and Google Sheets.
Strong understanding of employee development and related processes, tools, and techniques.
Strong strategic thinking skills.
Demonstrated ability to serve as a consultative advisor within areas of expertise.
Strong story-telling and presentation-building skills.
