Position Overview: The Import/Export Coordinator will be responsible for managing air or ocean shipments, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines, preparing quotes, and delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience working in international freight forwarding operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day operations for air or ocean import/export shipments.
Pre-alert agents and shippers, organize and prepare necessary documentation, and follow up with steamship lines.
Maintain daily reports for pending shipments and ensure all required documents are received.
File relevant documentation to process shipments and ensure compliance with regulations.
Arrange pick-ups, deliveries, and container loading as necessary.
Provide regular customer service updates, including tracking cargo from origin to destination.
Set up billing and handle payables related to shipments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum high school diploma or GED.
At least 2 years of experience in international freight forwarding logistics operations.
2 years of customer service experience, preferably in a logistics or supply chain environment.
Proficiency in CargoWise or similar freight management software is advantageous.
Strong communication and follow-up skills to deliver excellent customer service.
Ability to work both independently and in a cross-functional team environment to achieve results.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
