As a Core Stacker and Assembler, you will be responsible for performing the assembly of transformer core, lower yoke and columns, and placement of oil channels and insulation. This position is designed for someone who brings a blend of technical expertise and a commitment to safety and quality compliance. As you progress in your job role, you would be able to support us in growing the department by assisting in the training and development of new hires in the organization.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Performing the stacking and assembly of silicon steel sheets for large power transformer cores including placement of oil channels and insulations
Reading and interpreting mechanical technical drawings and work plans
Operating overhead cranes, forklifts for transport of materials and assembled core
Performing measurements and quality inspections including reviewing the tolerances in accordance with technical requirements
Supporting in developing and maintaining the documentation of technical instructions for the core stacking and assembly procedures
Training and mentoring of new hires into department.
Planning and reviewing the tasks to be carried out according to pre-established production plan and manufacturing standards.
Responsible to fulfill and/or to support to fulfill all protocols, policies, guidelines, and competences coming from all current system [EHS, QA, CyberSec, etc.].
What You Bring
High school degree or equivalent with relevant technical training/experience.
Minimum 1 year of experience in the transformer core stacking process is required.
Ability to use math, read and interpret complex drawings, and perform complex measurements.
Applicant must be able to obtain Keys certification test on reading and writing and Blueprint reading test offered by local community colleges
Ability to obtain and maintain Fork Truck License and a Critical Lift level crane license and certification for working in heights.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to effectively communicate and demonstrate leadership qualities to eventually become a trainer/mentor for new hires in the future.
Other Key Requirements:
Successful applicants must be able to pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests.
Must also be able to read, write, understand, and follow verbal and/or written instructions in English.
Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
Must be local to Charlotte, NC or willing to relocate.
Must be willing to relocate temporarily to Mexico or Brazil for on-the-job training for a period of 3 months or more based on the proficiency in the area of training. Appropriate relocation support and compensation will be provided.
