ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Juul is looking for an ambitious Electrical Engineer to join the Hardware Engineering team to support high-volume shipping products as well as bring new products and major product improvements to market. We are seeking a dynamic, motivated Electrical Engineer with a deep understanding of electrical engineering, product development and high-volume manufacturing processes and tools, and who can collaborate well with cross-functional design and manufacturing teams.

This is a hands-on role that will be responsible for designing new products that are innovative, cost efficient, reliable, and ship on schedule. The Electrical Engineer will drive the validation of concepts via early analysis, prototyping and testing, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure that product requirements are managed to achieve optimal experiences for our customers. In addition, the Electrical Engineer will work closely with internal and external partners to technically define electro-mechanical designs and ensure that all product and project requirements are met. The Electrical Engineer will troubleshoot and make improvements to existing products and work closely with other members of the engineering staff to create optimal solutions to difficult electrical, software, thermal, and battery life issues. The Electrical Engineer will be comfortable sketching and prototyping new ideas and be familiar with engineering best practices, concepts, and procedures. We are looking for an Electrical Engineer who is flexible and can respond quickly, energetically, and enthusiastically to changes. KEY

RESPONSIBILITIES:Designing and building custom test systems to support hardware, firmware, and system level verification. Examples include:Systems for facilitating automated bench level testing of hardwareSystems for automated data collection, analysis, and visualization for system validation and characterizationDesign, build, and verify PCBAsOversee embedded or PC-level software to control PCB test fixturesSupport Sustaining EngineeringCreate/execute verification and validation protocols for test fixtures, procedures, and softwareSupport troubleshooting for product failures on PCBs and electromechanical assembliesOversee schematics, BOMs, and PCB layouts for new and existing productsDeveloping best-practices for creating, executing and managing tests on Juul productsCreating and monitoring bugs using our issue tracking systemFollow Juul Labs' design control and documentation procedures (PLM experience helpful)PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 4 years of relevant experienceStrong EE fundamentalsExperience with Python, and version control systems like Git is requiredScripting knowledge to control benchtop test equipment like DMM, Oscilloscope, and Power analyzerExperience with microcontrollers, mixed signal design and embedded HWUnderstanding of serial communication protocols I2C, SPI, UARTExperience with sensors or other ICs communicating over SPI and/or I2CSchematic capture and PCB layout expertise, preferably with Altium DesignerPrevious experience with medical devices or other regulated products is desirableExcellent understanding of continuous integration practices and principlesExcellent critical thinking, analytical problem solving and communication skillsStrong desire to learn and growEDUCATION:

SALARY RANGES:Salary varies by role, level and location, and is dependent on the cost of labor in a givengeographic region among other factors. These ranges may be modified at any time.
