TNP has an immediate opening for an experienced Civil Engineer to join an established design team in our Denton, TX office responsible for the production of city street and TxDOT highway improvements. This position provides an excellent opportunity to serve state and local governments with the design of roadway, drainage, structural, traffic, and related transportation improvements; as well as personal development of engineering, project delivery, and project management skills.Responsibilities
Performing research and completing technical design tasks for transportation projects (city street, drainage, highways, freeways, and traffic control) as required and/or assigned, under the direction & supervision of a professional engineerPreparation of proposals, reports, opinion of probable cost, construction specifications and contract documents, under the direction & supervision of a professional managerEstablishing good communication and working relationships with team members & clientsOrganizing and scheduling work, and at times, the work of other team members in order to accomplish project goals within established budgets and timelinesEffectively coordinating & collaborating with technical experts, other engineering design teams and sub-consultantsLearning project management in accordance with TNP standards and guidelinesRequirements
Education/Registration
B.S. in Civil EngineeringPassing of FE Exam & EIT Certification or ability to obtain certification within one (1) year preferred.Intent to pursue registration as a Professional Engineer (Civil) in the State of TexasProfessional
Responsive and results oriented in service to clientsZero (2) to four (4) years of transportation design experienceAbility to read and interpret plans, specifications, and design criteriaKnowledgeable in Microsoft Office applicationsExperience with MicroStation V8i, Geopak, or OpenRoads is a plusCommitted to professional developmentDemonstrated ability to develop solid working relationships with other team members in a team-oriented environmentAbility to effectively organize and schedule work to meet deadlinesBenefits
