Controller
to join our team in Cleveland! The ideal candidate will be able to direct the corporation's financial affairs. This includes perfomring financial strategy, financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, company audits, compliance, cost accounting and business planning. You will collaborate with the President and the executive team to make decisions regarding the company's financial strategy and operations.
(This candidate will be required to work in person).
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Oversee cash flow, cash management, working capital, and company audits.Prepare financial statements and reports.Full charge bookkeeping.Manages all aspects of entering financial information into the accounting system.Remotely deposit cash receipts on a daily basis.Reconcile all bank accounts on a daily basis.Reconcile all credit card accounts on a monthly basis.Exercise independent judgement over accounts payable process including determining available cash to pay bills and process payments to vendors.Perform monthly close tasks as assigned by the President.Maintain all corporate policies relating to accounting matters.Collect and analyze corporate financial data to provide management with internal reports.Provide special reporting and analysis of financial information to management.Manage accounting and administrative staff that reports directly to the Controller which includes providing specific job duties and direction, monitoring performance of job duties and providing evaluations.Requirements:
EXPERIENCE
10+ years as a Controller or related experience preferred.15+ years in accounting.Small business experience preferred.In-house payroll experience preferred.Working with ERP systems is a must.COMPETENCIES
Attention to detail in reviewing and analyzing financial information.Strong mathematical skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong knowledge of accounting best practices.Must have strong problem-solving skillsAbility to prioritize multiple projectsHigh degree of integrityExtremely well organizedProficiency in MS Office, including Outlook, Excel and Microsoft Word.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in an inside office environment with average office noise levels. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is a largely sedentary role. The ability to lift files, stand, bend, stoop, and walk is required. Requires ability to use a keyboard, monitor, and phone. Requires ability to communicate verbally and electronically with others.
