Summary:
The Engineer II - Civil Engineering performs civil engineering design and construction support of projects.
Requirements:Performs civil site design independently and performs the road design, pad grading, drainage and hydrology.Performs civil designs and coordinates plan production in AutoCAD Civil 3D with the design team.Performs foundation designs, including wind turbine foundations, solar PV pilings and miscellaneous plant structures.Performs and coordinates independently the engineering tasks to support development/bids, permitting and pre-construction activities.Performs construction support including travel to site, technical support, shop drawing review, coordinates with sub-contractors, bid evaluation and project close-out.Writes specifications and technical reports.Prepares calculations and quantity takeoffs as necessary.Operates Company aligned vehicle for site visits.Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.Additional Responsibilities:
Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.Participates in project meetings and reports on progress/issues with assigned work.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field of study required.EI/EIT certification required.2 or more years of civil site development, technical, or structural engineering disciplines required.Ability to travel domestically and internationally 5 to 15% required.Must possess a valid Driver's License.Ability to organize and prioritize workAbility to work in a team environment using strong interpersonal skillsCommunicationInternally with estimating, contracts, development, technical group, construction team, management, accountants, procurement, and health, safety, quality, and environment departmentsExternally with subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, owners, clients, landowners, and jurisdictional agencies.Written skills to include clear and concise technical writingIntermediate level of knowledge in:Civil Site DesignRoads DesignStormwater Management DesignGeotechnical engineeringSurveyingProject Scheduling ToolsDetailed Design Software:MathCADAutodesk AutoCAD Civil 3DHydroflow, HydroCAD, Flo-2D, HEC RAS, HEC-HMS, or SimilarMS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)Familiar with national design codes and standards including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, NEH Part 630, NOAA Atlas 14, ASTM standards, etc.Functional competencies include accountability, attention to detail, prioritization, communication, and teamwork.Anticipated base salary range:
$78,000 - $99,000
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
