UNIT MANAGER - CANNING & RECEIVING - HOOPESTON, ILOVERVIEW:The Unit Manager - Canning & Receiving plays a key role in overseeing and managing all activities related to canning production, receiving, and raw material warehousing. Reporting directly to the Production Manager, this position is responsible for leading and coordinating production activities to ensure efficient operations, high-quality products, and adherence to safety, regulatory, and company standards.WHAT YOU'LL DO: Lead, oversee, and develop a team of production supervisors across multi-shift manufacturing operations. Provide guidance, training, performance feedback, and mentoring to foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.Develop and monitor staffing resource plans to ensure consistent production operations and internal / external customer demands are met.Teach, model, and ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all production staff, including regular safety inspections, training, and enforcement of safety policies.Coordinate with cross-functional teams, such as procurement, production planning, maintenance, quality assurance, and logistics, to ensure seamless coordination and integration of production activities.Monitor production processes and quality control measures to ensure compliance with food safety regulations, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and product specifications.Assist with establishment and monitoring of production metrics and KPI's. Teach and mentor supervisors and production employees on how operational performance metrics tie to overall facility and company objectives.Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including development of documented operations procedures, JSA's, 5S enhancements, and overall process improvements.Collaborate with senior management as requested / required to assist in development of department and overall facility goals and direction.WHAT YOU'LL NEED:Proven experience in food manufacturing or production supervision and management, with at least 7 years of progressive leadership experience.Strong knowledge of production processes, quality management systems, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA).Experience using ERP systems.Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.Strong understanding of supply chain and production planning / scheduling.Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodology, and other process improvement methodologies.Business acumen with ability to link operational metrics to financial results.WHAT WE'D LIKE TO SEE:Bachelor's degree preferred, in lieu of equivalent experience.Certification in production management, food safety (e.g., HACCP, SQF), or related fields is a plus.WHY TEASDALE:At Teasdale Latin Foods, our People Principles are all about Living LATIN.What is LATIN, and how do I live it?
