Assists departmental leadership in organizational development, benchmarking, operational reporting, management reporting, performance management, measuring trends, budgeting, analysis and other financial activities with a limited functional or organizational scope. Assist the director in managing the financial activities and services of the department as they relate to accounting, budgeting, financial reporting and other finance functions and implementing financial and accounting policies, procedures and programs for the hospital. Prepares statistical reports and financial information.

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.Analyzes business operations and identifies improvements; monitors and measures the trends in an operational or functional area. Assists in compiling and analyzing key performance indicators for the entity in relations to comparable organizations and annual targets.Assists in managing the department to ensure achievement of functional and budget/financial goals. Prepares the department's annual budget requests by determining priorities among requests from reporting staff.Coordinates with Information Technology (IT) department on projects and transmission of data.Ensures financial records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards. Assists with the gathering of support documentation for cost reports and other regulatory reports/audits.Implements policies and procedures for the preparation, maintenance and control of hospital's budgetary, accounting and related fiscal activities to ensure compliance with current legislation and regulations; maintains liaison with State and Federal agencies regarding pending or recently enacted legislation or regulations.Participates in development, implementation and maintenance of policies, objectives, short-and long-range planning; develops and implements projects and programs to assist in accomplishment of established goals.Performs supervisory functions by interviewing, selecting and providing training for new staff; by approving or disapproving recommendations from subordinate staff on personnel actions; by evaluating subordinates' performance; by hearing and resolving employee grievances; and by determining the need for and initiating disciplinary action in order to ensure adequate and competent staffing for the agency, program, division or institution.Prepares financial transaction analysis for management review providing financial adjustments required to resolve outstanding financial transactions, if any; provides support in the development of financial/operational analysis of hospital/clinical programs; prepares complex financial reports and analyses. Coordinates adhoc analysis and reporting.Provides assistance in the development of business plans and provides financial analysis associated with business plans and any other capital requests.Provides variance explanations for business cycle transactions. Develops and reviews trend analysis to highlight unusual transactions.Records, reviews, approves and transmits financial transactions in accordance to regulatory and internal controls.Works closely with operational personnel to understand and document operational financial issues (i.e.,physical inventory counts, flow of transactions and effect on financial results). Assists in review of other departmental processes. Identifies areas of improvement across and within processes. Responds in a timely fashion to operational requests for information and issue resolution.Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a work-related field/discipline from an accredited college or university
Experience:
Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience

Minimum to Midpoint Range (1.0 FTE): $141,024.00 to $187,002.40
