About the Job
Our Creative Department operates with the rule that the best idea wins, which means that everyone gets a voice here, no matter your level. We work collaboratively with each other and with the entire company, as we are all creative problem solvers. You'll be a part of our team and partner regularly with the designers to create compelling work on behalf of our clients and the Athena Brand. You'll be responsible for presenting your work to the Senior Copywriter and Creative Director to receive feedback and guidance.
Similar to an agency setting, your day-to-day will never be the same. You'll deal in both big ideas and tactical copy. So while there is no standard creative brief here, you can expect to regularly collaborate with design, concept with inter-departmental teams, pitch social content, brainstorm event swag, write ad copy, edit PowerPoints, work with leadership teams to craft new business proposals, and write anything that comes your way. And, as a bonus, our client list will you give you some big names for your portfolio.
About You
We're looking for a Copywriter with two to five years of experience, ideally from an agency setting. You must have a firm grasp of the English language and grammar, with powerful proofreading and editing skills. You should feel comfortable with a tight turnaround and juggling multiple responsibilities at once. You're a curious self-starter who loves taking ownership of projects, but also feels at home collaborating with your teammates. This role calls for great conceptual thinking, flawless execution, ambition, and optimism.
You must have a portfolio to apply.
Requirements
What you'll be responsible for:High-level concepting, copywriting, and copyediting for a wide range of ad types, brand experiences, social content, marketing deliverables, and business development materialsSuccessfully communicating and presenting creative ideas, strategic rationale, and copyCollaborating with design to produce smart, powerful work that delivers beyond the askStrategically and creatively elevating existing work (presentations, print pieces, reports, website copy, etc.) from Athena's cross-functional teamsTranslating complex and ambiguous concepts into simple and effective messages and deliverablesThe skills and experience you should have:
2-5 years of relevant experience in advertising, social media, marketing, branding, and/or other related fieldsExcellent short-form and long-form writing skills in a variety of voices and tonesSolid grammar, editing, and proofreading capabilitiesAbility to think strategically and conceptualize creativelyAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentIt's a plus if you have:
