Job Description Summary:The Strategic Sourcing Manager II is accountable for developing, managing and executing the sourcing strategy for the Marketing and Communications Category (inclusive of Media, Creative Services, Production, CRM, Influencer, Events, etc.). This individual will work closely with business units to manage sourcing strategies that drive significant value and impact for the BU operations and profitability. They will set the direction for the category area, building both, short/medium and long-term opportunities to drive sourcing excellence. The lead will possess excellent sourcing, stakeholder management and team building experience & skills; in addition to deep knowledge within the marketing category.

PayPal Marketing & Comms Strategic Sourcing oversees ~$400M in global spend. We partner closely with the Marketing & Comms business teams to minimize risk and maximize value through Strategic Sourcing and value optimization. This team is part of the Global Strategic Sourcing organization in Finance.

Key ResponsibilitiesWork with the BUs and senior leadership to understand strategic direction, demand requirements and business objectives and priorities.Drive thought leadership in the category providing market and industry intelligence, trends, innovation and best practices related to the marketing category of spend.Drive analysis of category spend to identify opportunities to reduce total category spend utilizing all savings levers. Develop business cases to substantiate opportunities and prioritization.Develop and execute sourcing strategies and plans.Develop supplier negotiation strategies that reflect and maximize PayPal's buying power, focus on service quality/performance, and minimize risk exposure.Assist BUs to manage in-category strategic supplier relationships.Adept in managing end-to-end process to drive projects to completion.Ability to identify opportunities for improvement in streamlining engagement model with stakeholders.Interact with all levels of management, including senior management, and stakeholders including Finance, Legal, Accounting, and suppliers to ensure strategic direction, operational and quality goals are achieved.Ability to build, maintain, and grow relationships with internal business partners while earning their trust.Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business or Marketing, MBA or JD preferredMinimum 7 years of experience with Marketing & Comms Strategic Sourcing; experience in working on agency side is a plusSuperior analytical ability to quickly gather facts, perform root cause analysis and draw conclusionsStrong conceptual thinking skills with adeptness to lead others through ambiguous and/or complex issuesExtensive experience managing change across multiple stakeholder groupsSuperior negotiation skills as well as contract review / analysis experienceAbility to build consensus and act as an independent arbiterAbility to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrentlyAbility to work in a fast-paced, changing environmentExcellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skillsExperience working in a global organization is preferredUnderstand Category Management function / approachProminent level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and ExcelKnowledge of Procure-to-Pay tool(s), Ariba is a plusKnowledge and prior usage of Business Intelligence toolsPosition is on-site in New York City - an on-site presence is required at a minimum of 3 days/week in the NYC office

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is$82500 to $187990
