Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Senior Category Manager - Castings, Forgings, & Seals to join our Procurement Organization at our headquarters in Lisle, IL.This position is responsible for key Truck and Engine Casting, Forging, and Seal sourcing.Essential duties include cost reduction, supply base management, strategies, and agreements. Position is responsible for direct material components and assemblies that have an annual turnover in excess of $400M annually. The position reports directly to Procurement Director with category managers and a project sourcing lead as direct reports. In addition, this individual will interact on a regular basis with the other TRATON brands to align and define numerous strategic sourcing activities and negotiations.Responsibilities:Build and develop teams.Working to develop and execute a sourcing strategy that best supports the overall Category strategy.Building and manage relationships with cross functional team members and management.Building strong strategic partnerships with suppliers to ensure that product quality, on time delivery and service levels are met.Leading strategic sourcing decisions for both new product launches as well as transfer business for improved cost, quality, or delivery opportunities.Identifying and developing new cost reduction opportunities using variety of procurement levers including competitive bidding, global sourcing, negotiation, technology, supply chain/footprint optimization, target costing, aftermarket service parts, etc.Analyzing commodity spend, including developing recommendations for category and savings opportunities.Negotiating with internal customers and external suppliers to maximize results.Facilitating communications between external suppliers and various internal departments to resolve queries or issues.Leading implementation of cost reduction initiativesLeading junior members of the Powertrain Procurement team in support of the department goalsAbility to travel 20-30%In addition, this position would also contribute to larger strategy reviews of additional commodities, and support other strategic initiatives as needed. This position promotes alignment by understanding business, customer needs and requirements throughout the organization.Minimum Requirements:Bachelors degreeAt least 10 years of materials management or supply chain experienceAt least 4 years of management experienceORMasters degreeAt least 8 years of materials management or supply chain experienceAt least 4 years of management experienceORAt least 12 years of materials management or supply chain experienceAt least 4 years of management experienceAdditional Requirements:
