OverviewTHIS IS A PROPOSED POSITIONGBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of Data Center Engineer - Infrastructure/Cloud in Landover, MD to provide infrastructure engineering for data center, compute, storage, network, Unified Communications, and remote site servers.
Responsibilities
Designs, delivers, and optimizes Virtual Infrastructure Services to improve security, availability, performance, and resource utilization;Reviews current virtual infrastructures, architectures, designs, and operations to identify potential improvements;Analyzes, refines, and documents the requirements for transition from legacy architectures into modern virtualized infrastructure environment;Designs virtual Infrastructure services to maximize available capacity of physical compute, storage, and network hardware resources;Documents security, configuration, and performance benchmarks of Virtual Infrastructure Services.Qualifications
LEVEL IV : Bachelor's degree in a related field, with (8) to ten (10) years' experience is required; OR Masters degree in a related field with six (6) to eight (8) years' experience years of experience; OR PhD with three (3) to five (5) years' experience;Must have a current DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level II certification (i.e., Security+ CE) at start;Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with SCI eligibility at start;Proven expertise in the VMware suite of cloud computing and virtualization technology is required;Professional-level VMware certifications is desired;ITILv4 Foundations certification is desired.
