Job Description:

TD Securities’ Power & Utilities and Chemicals Investment Banking groups are searching for an Analyst to join its growing team in New York. We meet our clients’ needs every day by providing them with sophisticated knowledge of capital markets and precise execution capabilities. Both teams are identified as a core growth sector within TD's Global Energy Investment Banking group. Analysts work closely with senior bankers and have significant involvement in all facets of investment banking activities including equity and debt offerings, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and strategic advisory work.

Job Description

Work within a deal team under the overall direction of a senior banker;

Develop a general understanding of TD’s product offerings;

Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the energy industry as well as the overall financial markets;

Research and analyze clients' financial situations, industry and market data, and mergers and acquisition opportunities;

Assist with the valuation of assets and companies (both private and public);

Assist with the maintenance of comparable trading and precedent transaction databases;

Perform complex financial and M&A modeling;

Prepare external client proposals and internal memos;

Prepare client presentations and marketing materials;

Maintain confidentiality of client information;

Establish an environment that promotes respect for the individual employee and adheres to the policies and guidelines of the Bank.

Job Requirements

Applicants should have completed an undergraduate degree

Well-organized, detail oriented and able to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines;

Establish priorities and work independently with minimal supervision;

Superior financial and analytical skills;

Strong verbal and written communication abilities;

Proactive and highly motivated. Able to work independently and in a team environment.

The Analyst Investment Banking provides specialized financial and statistical analysis on a broad range of marketing and execution activities. Conducts research, on-going analysis, prepares supporting documentation, and assists in due diligence efforts on transactions.

Depth & Scope:

Works within a deal team under the overall direction of a senior officer

Assists in the analysis of clients' financial situations, industry and market data, and M&A opportunities

Assists in valuations of private and public companies

Performs basic to intermediate financial modeling in Excel

Provides input to external client proposals and internal underwriting memos; assists in the preparation of client presentations based upon the above

Establishes an environment that promotes respect for the individual employee and adheres to the policies and guidelines of the Bank

Maintains confidentiality of client information

Experienced working professional level role providing a broad range of support to the team

Education & Experience:

Undergraduate degree in Business (Accounting or Finance) or Mathematics/Economics;

Series 7, 79 and 63

0-3 years of related experience
