Summary
A Freight Forwarder Ocean Import is responsible for managing the importation of goods by ocean, including all aspects of the logistics process such as customs clearance, carrier booking, cargo tracking, and delivery to the final destination. This role involves coordinating with various parties including carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage the importation of goods by ocean, including customs clearance and delivery to the final destinationCoordinate with carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to ensure timely delivery of goodsTrack shipments and provide updates to customers as neededPrepare and submit required documentation for customs clearance, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and other relevant paperworkEnsure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, including customs regulations and trade lawsManage relationships with customers and provide exceptional customer serviceEducational background / Work experience
Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field is preferredExperience in ocean imports is highly desirableSkills & Competencies
Mathematical Skills
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as calculating costs and ratesOther Skills
Excellent organizational and time management skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAttention to detail and accuracyAbility to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environmentFunction / Market & Industry Knowledge / Business Acumen / Processes
Knowledge of ocean freight logistics and customs regulationsUnderstanding of trade laws and regulationsLanguage skills

For this position, the expected base pay is:
$22.50 - $30.50 / Hourly.
Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, geographical location, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
