Director of Practical Nursing Program. The Director of Practical Nursing Program develops, delivers, manages, and evaluates the practical nursing program providing leadership, consultation, program coordination, technical assistance, and related services. The position develops and maintains relationships with the State Board of Nursing, healthcare agencies, and Penn State faculty/staff to support programming needs. This position provides direct oversight of the PN program at the Lehigh Valley, Berks, Hazleton, and other Commonwealth Campuses that may offer the PN program in the future.Job Responsibilities:Lehigh Valley Director: Lead faculty for the PS LV Practical Nursing program that includes recruiting, hiring, training and on boarding Instructors. Manage the LV schedule for both classroom and clinical sites. Work closely with the coordinator to provide support for the students and address any issues that may arise. Act as the backup faculty when needed. Work with all Instructors to ensure the classroom and clinical hours are met for successful student outcomes.
Provide leadership to the practical nursing program at the Lehigh Valley, Berks, Hazelton and any other Commonwealth Campuses that may offer the PN program in the future.
Determine curriculum objectives, goals, and evaluation tools; analyze and assess program outcomes
Update course materials as needed
Review and maintain program compliance
Work closely with program coordinators to develop and implement marketing plans for recruitment
Plan and manage budgets for programs and services to meet assigned income and program targets; identify and pursue funding opportunities
Generate and prepare reports; gather and analyze data and make data-informed recommendations
Cultivate, develop, and maintain relationships with community healthcare organizations and government agencies
Develop proposals and negotiate contracts; administer program grants
Direct supervision of participating campus PN program staff to ensure consistency across the program.
In addition, this position will support the development and implementation of any campus that would like to start the program within the Penn State Commonwealth campus system. BSN required. Preference will be given to those candidates with an MSN.
