DESCRIPTION
The Physical Therapist Assistant will work in an acute care setting and provide treatments to a wide variety of orthopedic patients. The employee will implement therapeutic exercises, modalities, and manual techniques under the supervision of a physical therapist. Treatment provided will follow therapy procedures, protocols and programs. Patient progress will be documented and communicated effectively with the primary therapist. Employee will work under general supervision and also assist with inventory control, clinic maintenance and organization. Should also be able to excel in working within a collaborative environment and communicate patient information across the continuum of care.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) issued by the state of California.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Possesses the ability to treat patients, follow an established plan of care and performvarious physical therapy treatments appropriate to acute care.
Ability to determine expected outcomes throughout the continuum of therapeutic intervention.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and be able to articulate complex ideas for all levels of audiences.
Be a self-starter who is accountable and requires minimal direction and supervision; a person who is open to new ideas; and a creative and flexible individual who is comfortable working in a large, complex organization.
Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment, and accountability.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Three (3+) or more years of relevant experience.Acute Care Hospital Experience.SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.Pay Transparency ActAnnual Full Pay Range: $94,252 - $94,252 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)Hourly Equivalent: $45.14 - $45.14Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
