Our Assisted Living community, Bay Vista Commons, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team. As the Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for providing licensed nursing direction and oversight in our Assisted Living facility. You will ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations, implement industry best practices, and maintain high standards of resident care and satisfaction. This role requires a strong leader who can effectively manage nursing staff, advocate for residents, and collaborate with various healthcare professionals.
Wage:
Annual salary of $85,000 - $95,000 depending on applicable experience
Key Responsibilities:
Supervisory:Lead and supervise the nursing care staff, including hiring, discipline, and annual competency evaluations.Develop and implement staff development programs, providing coaching and training to ensure high-quality care.Demonstrate clinical skills, critical thinking, and nursing interventions, offering guidance to all staff.Ensure adherence to Bay Vista Commons/Martha & Mary nursing policies, procedures, and standards.Assist in developing policies, procedures, and philosophies that govern resident care.Participate in staff scheduling and rotating on-call duties as needed.Resident Advocacy:
Serve as the primary liaison between residents, their families, Bay Vista Commons, Martha & Mary, and healthcare providers.Encourage and support a resident-centered environment, recognizing that this is their home.Work closely with DSHS Surveyors and other regulatory agencies to ensure compliance.Resident Care:
Perform and document accurate comprehensive assessments to ensure adequate care, communication and monitoring of a residents condition.Participate in admissions, transfers, discharges, and monitoring of resident conditions, ensuring care plans are up-to-date.Oversee nurse delegation in accordance with Chapter 236-316 WAC, ensuring staff competency and proper training.Monitor medication orders, oversee the removal and destruction of medications, and ensure accurate physician orders.Conduct resident fall and incident report investigations, implement interventions when indicated and provide necessary notifications to the State when necessary.General:
Maintain a calm demeanor and provide clear and precise instructions.Understand and follow policies and procedures, supporting the mission, vision, and values of Martha & Mary.Work with the team to support staffing needs to cover weekends, holidays, and other shifts as needed.Exhibit excellent critical thinking, nursing intervention skills, and verbal and written communication skills.Problem-solve effectively, handle unpredictable circumstances, and maintain a positive attitude.Required Qualifications:
Education:
Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.Experience:
Minimum of five years of adult/geriatric nursing experience with at least one year in a supervisory role.Licensure:
Current, unencumbered Washington State RN license.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Creative thinking and the ability to provide high-quality services to residents and families.Strong documentation skills and the ability to use medical devices as needed.Proficiency in basic computer skills and the ability to work with multiple software programs.Ability to lead and work cooperatively in a team environment.Strong ability to interpret practice standards, procedures, and government regulations.Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.Why Join Us?
