Applied Composites (AC) is seeking a
Production Assembler 1
to perform a range of routine assembly operations of small parts or components, under well-defined instructions and in accordance with company policy and safety procedures. This individual uses light powered electrical or mechanical tools, including hand tools, in the construction of subassemblies. Works with the assembly team to sandblast parts with minimal efforts, fit and align and/or adjust parts to meet specifications and requirements, some prep of composite parts for paint department necessary. Must be able to work with shop tools and equipment used in composite layup and assembly.

Job Accountabilities:
Ability to use basic shop tools such as sanders, grinders and drill motorsAbility to use basic measuring devices such as calipers, scale and micrometers to verify dimensionsAbility to document the materials used in the process to maintain traceabilityAbility to do accurate work at a fast-paceAbility to sandblast parts with minimal scrap or errorsFamiliarity with standard shop practices in the aerospace industryMust be able to wear the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to work with chemicalsFamiliarity with LEAN manufacturing principlesDemonstrates all safety policies and proceduresOther responsibilities as assignedJob Specifications:
Education:
A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectationsYears' Experience:
0-2 years of relevant work experiencekills:
Good mechanical aptitudeAble to operate a variety of hand tools and light machineryCapable of performing basic mathematicsAbility to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies and proceduresGood manual dexterity required to work with small partsAble to problem-solving using existing procedures to perform straightforward tasksEffective oral, written and interpersonal skillsExperience in laminating Carbon Fiber, Fiberglass, Kevlar, or other composite material preferred
