Who We Are:Chester House provides day programming, employment services (Individual Placement and Supports model), and transportation services for adults with serious mental illness. The Senior Clinician position at Chester House has the opportunity to interact with consumers daily and participate in program planning and programming, which includes progressive, interactive and engaging activities. Minimum Education and Experience :Master's degree in Human Services; three years of experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. An LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) or LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) is preferred. Three years of experience in the Human Services field with an emphasis on Community Mental Health Rehabilitative Services is preferred. Experience navigating an electronic health record preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :Considerable knowledge and understanding of fundamental concepts of normal and abnormal human behavior, personality development, family and group dynamics; considerable knowledge of and an ability to apply a variety of psychotherapeutic treatment techniques/modalities; adherence to basic ethics appropriate for a professional helping relationship; knowledge of mental health diagnoses, assessment, and/or psychological and educational testing; some knowledge of consultation program; considerable knowledge of psychosocial history development; very good interviewing and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.

Preferred:Demonstrated ability to completing comprehensive needs assessments, and formulating person-centered individualized treatment plans, knowledge of recovery language, and knowledge of recovery-oriented services to persons with serious mental illness. Computer proficiency skills in Microsoft Office Suite (including Microsoft Teams; demonstrated critical thinking skills with attention to detail; and ability to track and meet multiple competing deadlines consistently and independently.

Additional Requirements Must be a licensed mental health professional or license eligible (LMHP-R, LMHP-S, LMHP-E).

Current valid driver's license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date.

Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check, and education/degree verification required.

This position is considered Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Duties

Duties include but are not limited to the following:• Coordinates Referral, Intake and Orientation Process at Chester House to include meeting with individuals and relevant others to complete Comprehensive Needs Assessments, Prior Authorizations, and Individualized Service Plans.• Tracks and completes annual Comprehensive Needs Assessments, Prior authorizations and six-month reviews to determine continued eligibility.• Meets with individuals and assists with completing individualized service plan annual updates.• Responds to and appropriately intervenes with urgent and crisis situations that occur with individuals in the psychosocial program.• Maintains a small caseload and leads groups.• Maintains administrative and clinical recording of work as required.• Conducts collateral contacts with family of clients or other community caregivers involved with client.• Performs other work as required.
