This position requires a full-time in-person presence.Hours Per Week: 40Work Schedule:Position Type: Full-Time StaffPosition SummaryThe Custodian I/II position is responsible for providing custodial services for all College buildings. Dedicated to assuring proper hygiene compliance and the cleanliness of classrooms, restrooms, hallways, administrative offices, auditoriums, etc. during the evening shift.

Available Shifts:There will be (4) overnight, 11pm - 7am shifts and (1) shift that will work 7am - 3pm (3) weekdays and Saturday and Sunday.

Scrub or strip and wax floors as needed or as scheduled.

Spray buff and/or burnish floors as needed or as scheduled.

Vacuum carpets and upholstery as scheduled.

Shampoo carpets as needed or as scheduled.

Wash walls, inside windows, window sills, baseboards, and glass doors as needed or as scheduled. Remove graffiti from walls and other surfaces.

Clean and sanitize restrooms, including fixtures, hardware, tile surfaces, mirrors,partitions, floors, etc. Replace restroom supplies as needed. Unclog toilets, ifpossible. Report all plumbing problems to Assistant Supervisor immediately.

Dust office furniture, chairs, filing cabinets and other furnishings in offices or elsewhere in the buildings daily.

Clean chalkboards, chalk trays and erasers in assigned classrooms daily.

Collect trash and debris, including the removal of infectious waste containers. Dispose of all trash and infectious waste in designated areas. Empty trash cans.

Follow daily custodial schedule for assigned station.

Perform work orders as required.

Maintain proper care and use of equipment and materials in assigned station, including custodial rooms.

Notify Assistant Supervisor of Custodians of maintenance issues and other concerns daily.

Relieve, assist or temporarily substitute on other stations as assigned by the Facilities Operations Manager or Assistant Supervisor of Custodians.

Follow established safety policies and procedures, including the use of all personalprotective equipment necessary to perform duties safely.

This position is designated as Essential Personnel. The incumbent is required to assist in meeting the operational needs of the College during emergencies and college closures, as well as, ensure continuity of strategic services.

Other duties as assigned by the Facilities Operations Manager or Assistant SupervisorsRequired Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum one year of custodial experience required.

Ability to read, write and follow simple directions.

Demonstrated ability to work under the following conditions and meet the following physical requirements:

Ability to push, pull, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. throughout an 8 hour shift.

Ability to work outdoors in varied weather condition, such as heat, cold, rain, snowand slippery conditions.

Ability to work on uneven surfaces.

Ability to utilize lifts, ladders and/or scaffolding to work at elevated heights.

Demonstrated ability to professionally assist and interact with culturally diverse students, faculty, staff and the public.Preferred Qualifications:Proven record of attendance and reliability.

Ability and willingness to be flexible concerning work location, assignments, hours and shifts.

Demonstrated ability to use heavy custodial equipment, including buffers and vacuums, and move furniture with or without reasonable accommodations.

Ability to work well with others.
