Manager, Revenue Accounting
to join our accounting team. You will be responsible for leading our revenue accounting team, including daily revenue and accounts receivable operations, month end closes, and developing/maintaining related internal controls. This role will also work with management across the finance organization to understand revenue and receivables trends and serve as an advisor on revenue accounting topics.This role is flexible and can be hybrid or fully remote (with occasional travel, optional 1 time per quarter for approximately 2 days to our Billerica, MA office to take part in department/cross-functional meetings and team building activities).WHAT YOU'LL DO:Manage the month-end close process for revenue and cost of revenue. Oversee the delivery of accurate and timely financial information to meet the needs of both internal and external stakeholdersReview revenue and indirect tax reconciliations and analyses, and prepare / review monthly journal entriesReview standard customer contracts to ensure appropriate revenue recognition treatment under ASC 606. Work with technical accounting team to identify contracts that require technical accounting analysisOwn the end-to-end internal control (SOX) program for all revenue processes and controlsSupport revenue related disclosures and the preparation/review of revenue footnote schedules associated with SEC filingsContinuously develop the revenue accounting team, with an emphasis on enhancing accuracy and efficiencyOversee accounts receivable activities and ensure timely and accurate invoicing to customers and collections. Partner with the sales and customer service teams accordinglyPrepare the quarterly CECL reserve and meet with sales teams to support reserve requirementsDevelop, maintain, and operationalize revenue accounting policies and processesIdentify and drive process improvement initiatives including automation and data analytics to create efficiencies for the quote to cash and revenue processesOversee the team's preparation of all external audit requests throughout the quarterly reviews and annual auditManage ad hoc projects, as needed
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance and 6 years of experience or Master's Degree in accounting and 5 years of experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:3+ years of experience in revenue accounting under ASC 606, US GAAP, and SOXExperience in both 'Big 4' public accounting and publicly traded, global companies2+ years of progressive experience leading and developing a team of revenue accountantsCandidates with a life sciences background, including revenue recognition involving third-party reimbursementExperience collaborating with sales and legal teams, including cross-functional initiatives that include direct and indirect reportsDemonstrated ability to grow a global quote to cash process, navigating the complexities of doing business domestically and internationally, and helping teams through change managementFoundational understanding of SEC reporting and ASC 606 disclosure requirements for 10-Q's and 10-K'sFocus on innovation. Implementation of modern revenue / billing financial systems, ERP enhancements, and automation (robotic process automation, etc.)
