Project Portfolio Management Analyst
The Role
Project Portfolio Management Principal Analyst provides the advanced analytics and reporting on the
investment agenda to ensure performance from concept through benefits realization. The Principal Analyst role owns the business case process, standards and organizational coaching to enable prioritization and selection. The Principal Analyst provides assessment on the projects and impact to the overall portfolio to senior leadership to assist in decision making. The role partners with IT and business units to ensure project execution is optimal and aligned with expectations related to methodology, process and tools.
Essential Job Functions
Provides and manages project portfolio analysis for enterprise decision making and governance. Includes modeling of financial and human capacity constraints, development of options for optimization, including the sequencing and release management, and rebalancing of the project agenda for optimal execution and benefit realization. Identifies and recommends opportunities to improve project portfolio management process to senior leadership. Develops and maintains the tools necessary to support project portfolio process and methodology. Owns, monitors and administers framework for project and portfolio reporting, including project reporting and dashboards. (35%)
Dissects, assesses, and coaches organization's leadership on business case development and benefit realization. Owns, monitors and administers business case tools. Conducts project and portfolio assessments and provides recommendations to governing boards and executives. Contributes to creation and maintains processes and decision making principles to guide investment decisions. (35%)
Participates and monitors project concept, planning and execution to secure and maintain alignment across the organization (Business and IT). In partnership with IT, manages resource utilization and contention. Partners with IT to maintain project management methodology. (20%)
Facilitates annual portfolio and project planning process with key business stakeholders. (10%)
Experience and Education
Minimum Requirements
6-7 years of relevant technical and/or business experience required.
Four-year degree or equivalent work experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
8-10 years of experience preferred. Insurance/Financial Industry experience preferably Financial Planning and Analysis
Advanced degree preferred. Either in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field
