We help our customers with thorny and complex investigations and along the way, make the world a safer place.As an Embedded Cybercrime Investigator, you’ll work alongside one of our federal law enforcement customers to investigate unlawful activity as it pertains to cryptocurrency and other illicit activity to include the darknet. In this role, you’ll proactively conduct research, analyze data, and present your findings to both internal and external audiences. An ideal candidate has excellent written and verbal communication skills, and is comfortable working as an individual contributor with limited supervision. If you have a passion for puzzles, problem-solving, and finding things that don’t want to be found, you could be a great fit for this role.Please note that this role requires you to be physically on-site with the customer in Washington, D.C. at least one day per week.In this role, you'll:Provide investigative and analytic support for extremely complex, technical, and highly sensitive investigations and initiatives pertaining to financial crimes, including cryptocurrencies.Conduct research and data analysis, author reports of your investigative findings, and present those findings to team members and customers.Prepare in-depth summaries of data from extensive research and analysis to set forth recommendations for investigations, lead follow up, and potential risks that could hamper an investigation.We're looking for candidates who have:A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, ideally in cybersecurity, cyber crime, intelligence, criminal justice, forensic accounting, or analytics.Experience working with federal law enforcement and preparing input for legal process as it relates to cyber investigations.Experience resolving cyber indicators to real world identities through multi-source link analysis.A deep understanding of Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) analysis, social media analysis, and MySQL database analysis.Experience with cryptocurrency tracing and analysis.Nice to have experience:A background in cyber targeting, financial forensics, or digital forensics.Experience with database administration and/or Windows/Mac system administration.Technical writing experience.An understanding of 19 USC 1956, 1957, and 1960.Experience with the analysis of legal process returns from cryptocurrency exchanges, Internet Service Providers, and Email service providers.This position is ineligible for visa sponsorship.Due to the nature of the work performed in this facility, U.S. Citizenship is required.About ChainalysisBlockchain technology is powering a growing wave of innovation.
