As a Principal Engineer - Software you will drive the technical direction of our product offerings and solutions across multiple platforms and value streams. Guides the evolution of our software engineering practices throughout the full product life cycle, from conception to retirement. Understands multiple web application integration points, interdependencies, and standard data exchange and control protocols. Has a passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community.Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree with 10 -12 years of relevant work experience.Four (4) years of experience being the technical lead over a group of engineers overseeing large scale projects, roadmaps, or rollouts.Excellent verbal and written communication skills demonstrated by ability to generate.Experience with mentoring technical reports and facilitate presentations for leadership and across IT.Experience with third party databases, application libraries, interfaces, and internet protocols.Understanding of modern software engineering principles and architecture patterns.Proficient with cloud native framework, containers, web architecture design patterns, and API development (REST, GRAPHQL, SOAP).Proficient in various development frameworks and UI/UX technologies: J2EE (Java, JSP, and JDBC), .NET, Python, Node, and React. Proficient knowledge of infrastructure (cloud, networking, storage, data, and compute) with strong troubleshooting understanding and ability to resolve technical issues.Working knowledge of CI/CD architecture with proficient knowledge on automated testing (QA, Security, & compliance), secret management, branching methodologies, and other technologies necessary for application development, and modern software delivery. Understanding of multi-threaded programming, transaction isolation strategies, and deadlock avoidance; familiarity with caching strategies and J2EE framework challenges.Experience with developing and integrating into digital marketing, content delivery/content management, social media, and digital payment technologies.Familiarity with Commercial SAAS and PAAS platforms, such as Salesforce suite of technologies, AWS, Azure, Office 365, Oracle, etc. Ability to articulate business related and IT related requirements to a broad audience.Experience in guiding program vision, direction, and mentorship for the development for Salesforce and Digital Marketing technologies. Salesforce experience a plus.Broad depth of knowledge across digital marketing technologies including integration and API development.Experience with data modeling and data architecture across disparate technologies and data sources.Experience working in a large sized organization with diverse divisions and the ability to communicate effectively to disparate audiences.In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, must have at least 10+ years of hands-on experience, including leadership roles, to achieve senior status.Benefits & Perks
