The role will provide network, server and end-user client hardware/PC troubleshooting and maintenance, globally, and will be based full-time in our Columbia, South Carolina headquarters. The candidate will need to maintain a ticket queue, resolving issues based on priority and SLA. The position demands someone comfortable with collaborating in and outside of the department to drive issues to resolution. This position is responsible for supporting systems, hardware, applications, and customers in a dynamic, global, enterprise environment. This person will work closely with other team members within the IT organization and in other departments as required.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Manage and maintain the organization's servers, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.Install, configure, and troubleshoot server hardware and software components.Monitor system performance and respond to alerts in a timely manner.Collaborate with the security team to implement and enforce security policies and procedures.Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.Respond to security incidents and assist in the resolution of security-related issues.Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of systems and applications.Provide tier 1 support for global network landscape, to include the following platforms: Cisco routers, Cisco switches, Cisco wireless, VPN and firewalls.Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.Experience with TCP/IP, VLANs, L2 switching and L3 routing.Domain knowledge of core infrastructure protocols including DNS, DHCP, SMTP, LDAP, SNMP.Maintain local site cabling infrastructure for copper and fiber runs and terminations.Maintain existing backup infrastructure to include off-site tape storage, backup job verification and troubleshooting as necessary.Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues for quick resolution.Provide help desk support to users’ ticketing system.Clearly communicate verbally and in writing with peers and upper management.Create and maintain documentation for new and existing processes and procedures.Displays “sense of urgency” when situations require immediate attention.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:2+ years’ IT experience as a Systems Administrator with a focus on networking.In-depth knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching.Excellent skills in partnering and communicating to internal clients.Strong written and oral communication skills and attention to detailStrong experience with server administration in both Windows and Linux environments.Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.Solid understanding of security best practices and the ability to implement them effectively.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to learn new and emerging technologies.Work under minimal supervision as part of a team.Bachelor’s or associate degree from an accredited college or universityPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:2+ years’ IT experience in a manufacturing environmentMicrosoft Access and SQL Server Database experienceEMC SAN experience in maintaining and troubleshooting storage groups and LUNs.Advanced routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP and BGP
