Applicants must live in the DFW, Texas metroplex.We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure on AWS. You will work closely with software engineers, technology leadership, and other stakeholders to ensure that our applications are robust, scalable, and highly available.
Senior DevOps Engineer Responsibilities:
AWS Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable AWS environments, leveraging services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and more.
CI/CD Pipeline Development: Build and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Bitbucket pipelines, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline to automate testing, deployment, and monitoring of applications.
Automation: Develop infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources.
Monitoring and Logging: Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or other relevant tools to ensure high availability and performance of applications.
Security Compliance: Ensure the security and compliance of the cloud infrastructure by implementing best practices, conducting regular security assessments, and automating security checks.
Cost Optimization: Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure costs, recommending and implementing cost-saving measures without compromising performance.
Collaboration: Work closely with software development teams to ensure seamless integration of new features and updates into the production environment. Collaborate with security and compliance teams to align with organizational policies.
Disaster Recovery: Design and implement robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure data integrity and availability in case of failures.
Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior DevOps engineers, sharing best practices and helping them grow in their roles.
Senior DevOps Engineer Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, information technology, information systems, or similar.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in a DevOps role, with a strong focus on AWS cloud infrastructure in a SaaS environment.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM).
Strong experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline).
Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar).
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana).
Knowledge of networking, security best practices, and cloud cost management.
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or other relevant certifications are a plus.More than a job
