We are committed to supporting your success in both your professional and personal lives.Position OverviewQinetiQ is recruiting for a Systems Engineer to join our growing team of individuals providing the full spectrum of capabilities. We solve hard target problems for our customers on major, well-known electronics systems, to custom hard-to-find, one-off platforms.ResponsibilitiesDesign, program/develop, and modify software systems, applications, and tools, both existing and potentially new in the future.Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.Correct errors by making the appropriate changes and then re-checking the program to ensure the desired result was produced.Conduct testing of program and software applications to be sure they will produce the desired results and that instructions are correct.Organize and maintain documentation of application development and subsequent revisions so others can understand the program.Collaborate with teammates, other service providers, vendors, and users to develop new programming methods.Develop and enhance complex new software products in a self-directed, agile environment.Required QualificationsTS/SCI clearance with polygraph required #qinetiqclearedjobBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or IT field.Experience with software development and/or data systems.Preferred QualificationsExperience with C/C++, Scala, Groovy, Python, and/or shell scripting.Experience with distributed computing technologies including Hadoop, HBase, Cassandra, Elasticsearch and Apache Spark a plus.Hands-on experience working with Elastic Search, Mongo DB, Node, Hadoop, Map Reduce, Spark, Rabbit MQ, and NiFi.DevOps experience building and deploying cloud infrastructure with technologies like Ansible or Cloud Formation.Experience developing and deploying algorithms.Company EEO StatementAccessibility/Accommodation:If because of a medical condition or disability you need a reasonable accommodation for any part of the employment process, please send an e-mail to staffing@us.QinetiQ.com or call (540) 658-2720 Opt. 4 and let us know the nature of your request and contact information.QinetiQ Inc. is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
