6+ monthsFace to Face Interview RequiredOnly W2 candidatesMust Have:We have a need for a Senior DBA in Charlotte, NC or Jersey City, NJ for our Fortune 50 client! This individual will be responsible for both application and system database administration. This is a contract opportunity with one of the largest global insurance providers!Job Responsibilities:Support production and non-production databases with the following technology: Oracle 11g and above, Oracle RAC, and Oracle Golden Gate on UNIX (Solaris and AIX) and Linux OS.Responsible for standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access and security administration.Perform backup and recovery on Database Management Systems, configure database parameters, define data repository requirements, data dictionaries, and warehousing requirements.Optimize database access and allocate/re-allocate database resources for optimum configuration, performance, and cost.Requirements/Required skills:6+ years of experience with various database management systems in design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and administration in a multiple platform environment.Experience managing very large databases (1TB or larger) is mandatory.Experience with UNIX shell scripting is mandatory.Strong SQL skills (mandatory), including the ability to rewrite complex queries to improve performance.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work with onshore and offshore teams.Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.Qualifications
