The Institute of NanoBio Technology is looking for a
Research Technologist
to perform laboratory tasks and complete routine assays following common or established protocols and procedures.Specific Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform laboratory experiments by following common protocols or with instruction. Uses basic science knowledge to learn techniques/methods of the lab.Gain problem solving skills through progressive training, understanding of the research, and experience. Run lab tests and complete measurements assigned.Identify and resolve common problems involved in routine research assays.Understands the role of senior lab members and accepts constructive guidance.Increases own skill base and knowledge of lab research and relevant assays.Train users in standard equipment operation and routine lab techniques and procedures.Set-up experiments based on defined standards.Collect project data.Prepare, test, and maintain standard laboratory equipment.Perform related laboratory maintenance, monitoring inventory of supplies, cleaning equipment.Special Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesCell cultureDrug uptake studiesTranswell assaysFluorescence microscopyMatlab userMinimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field.Preferred QualificationsMaster's Degree.Some related post-undergraduate work experience.Classified Title: Research TechnologistRole/Level/Range: ACRO40/E/02/CCStarting Salary Range: $15.70 - $26.25 HRLY (Commensurate with experience)Employee group: Full TimeSchedule: M-F/8:30-5Exempt Status: Non-ExemptLocation: Homewood CampusDepartment name: Institute for NanoBioTechnologyPersonnel area: Whiting School of Engineering
