Project/Unit Description
The Applied Embedded Systems (AES) division strives to turn research concepts into fielded capability in the portfolio areas of: airborne Electro-Magnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO), technology insertion for EMSO and other RADAR applications, open systems architectures, and modern software engineering.
Job Purpose
The Electronic Systems Architect designs, develops, and deploys integrated hardware, software, and total electronic system solutions for the organization. This position provides significant technical leadership in the organization through technical team leadership, leading design decisions on major programs, and providing recommendations about system modules including software, hardware technologies, and deployment requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Develop system architectures to deploy complex electronic systemsSupport all phases of program execution, primarily in the program design and implementation phasesGuide technical vision of domain area and recommend areas for investment of internal research and developmentProvide significant technical impact on sponsor base and gain trust in the communityPerform comparative analysis to similar systems, assessing system strengths and weaknessesResearch system theory and design concepts to help in determining system functionality and potential weaknessesTake ownership of large complex program team development while mentoring othersAuthor technical reports and presentations for projects of high complexityCompile report input from other researchers and prepare final report deliverablesServe as primary author of pertinent white papers and competitive proposalsProvide technical vision to sponsors
Additional Responsibilities
Guide, Vision, and Direct business development initiatives in the portfolio areas of EMSO and RADAR applicationsProvide technical leadership to engineering teamsIdentify and provide technical leadership to key internal investment efforts
Required Minimum Qualifications
Experience with EMSO ApplicationsExperience with RADAR ApplicationsExperience leading DoD programs
Preferred Qualifications
Active Top Secret ClearanceExperience with briefing internal and external senior leadershipExperience with restricted programs
Education and Length of Experience
