The Arene Value Delivery team drives the definition of products needed to deliver this vision. The team collaborates with global partners and customers to define requirements, conduct analyses, and create architectures for software components and interfaces used in Toyota vehicles. By engaging with all engineering teams within the Arene platform, we apply our customer-driven expertise to ensure our automotive software is safe, secure, and ready for production. The Arene organization is growing, and we are adding expertise to our engineering center in Ann Arbor, MI to strengthen our global team and support customer engagements with Toyota Motor North America (TMNA).WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?We are looking for technical leaders who are excited to help build a state-of-the-art automotive development platform that is “software first.” We envision Arene will change the way vehicles are made by expanding the use of software in feature development and testing. The ideal candidate will lead a customer-driven mission across multiple automotive features and a pragmatic approach to applying system engineering principles to modern software development practices. The ability to understand and distill complex customer requirements into value-added solutions is critical.RESPONSIBILITIESSolution Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define architectures and design software solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of our customers at Toyota and in the automotive field.Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance throughout the software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions.Integration: Integrate customer ADAS software stacks with Arene validation products. Integrate products with internal and external vehicle and environment simulation programs.Create solutions in C++ to test and validate virtual ECUs in a modular and scalable way.Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including architectural diagrams, technical specifications, and best practices, to facilitate knowledge sharing and project scalability.Be a subject matter expert across our Arene Product offerings providing expert consultation and support to clients, addressing technical challenges and ensuring successful project delivery.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMinimum 10 years of experience as a Solutions Architect, Software Engineer, or similar customer-facing role.Demonstrated experience delivering solutions to customers, including system/software architectures and designs for complex products.Deep knowledge of software architecture and design patterns, especially as they apply to automotive or embedded systems.Experience developing and implementing software tools and products to support all phases of a software development lifecycle.Experience working closely and collaborating with customers and engineering teams – strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.Experience working with automotive communication protocols - CAN, Automotive Ethernet, FlexRay, LIN.Ability to work out of our Ann Arbor, MI office for most days of the week.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge or experience with interfaces and protocols used in automotive or related embedded systems (CAN, Ethernet, etc.).Experience with software frameworks (e.g., ROS, AGL, DDS) for modularity, messaging, and hardware abstraction; familiar with methods of data exchange using pub-sub or similar mechanisms.Knowledge of design patterns and architectural strategies to build scalable, resilient, and highly available systems in the cloud.Familiarity with safety (ISO 26262, ISO 21448, IEC 61508) and security (ISO 21434) standards.Experience in vehicle motion planning, control, embedded systems, and vehicle dynamics.Experience in creating scenarios and validation plans for ADAS products.WHAT WE OFFERWe are committed to creating a modern work environment that supports our employees and their loved ones.
